Joining Information

Where do you meet?

We meet weekly at Gilbert Christian Schools

Val Vista Campus - Wednesdays 6-7:30 PM

Greenfield Campus - Thursdays 6-7:30 PM

Agritopia Campus - Thursdays 6-7:30 PM

How do I check it out?

The first step is to let us know your interest. Go to https://www.traillifeusa.com/find-a-troop/ and fill out your zip code. You should see AZ-3368 as an option. When you fill out that form, one of our leaders will get in touch with you.

After that, you will want to come check out one of our meetings. We have a team of "Advocates" that have a green pin on their lanyard that can help you get acquainted to our troop.

But we will cover all that when we you get in touch with us!

How much does it cost?

A good budget for the year is $400 for one dad and a son. This covers all the start up costs, but also ancillary costs that come up through the year.

Our troop dues for 2025 are $200 ($100 in the fall, and $100 in the spring). The dues are only for the boys, not the dads.

The Trail Life fees are currently $43 for boys. If the dad wants to volunteer as a leader there is a $60 fee for background checks and membership.

The rest of the costs are books, lanyard, shirts, and a few other resources.

I want to join but can't afford it

If you have looked into the troop and you are ready to commit to joining, don't let the cost hold you back. We have a limited number of need-based scholarships we can apply.

And if you are in a position to help with these scholarships, we would love to hear from you. Helping another trailman join for a year can be life-changing!

Ok, I am ready - now what?

Well, by now, you should have:

  • Confirmed your interest by going to https://www.traillifeusa.com/find-a-troop/ and filling out the form for AZ-3368
  • Had a conversation with a Troop Advocate about the troop
  • Checked out the troop at one of our meetings

If so, just let your troop advocate know that you are ready to join, and he will work you through the rest of the initial process.

And welcome to the trail!
